Sustainability

For us as a real estate company, sustainability is an integrated part of our decision-making and ways of working. We have a longterm responsibility- both for the properties we manage and for the people who rent and operate in them. By actively working to reduce our climate impact, improve the enery efficiency of our buildings, and promote social sustainability, we not only create value for our tenants and owners- we also contribute to a more sustainable society.

Sustainability targets

Climate-impact

By 2030 NP3s GHG-emissions in scope 1 and 2 should be reduced by 42% and scope 3 reduced by 25%. NP3 aims to reach net zero by 2045. The target is validated by Science Based Target initiative.

Energy

NP3s total energy consumption shall be reduced by 50% by 2045 compared to 2025, which corresponds to about 2.5% per year. Measured in kWh/sqm in comparable portfolio.

By the end of 2033, the company's properties shall not have a primary energy number above 150 in accordance with BBR29, which corresponds to about 15 properties per year excluding acquisitions. Properties acquired after 2029 shall achieve the target within 36 months.

Green portfolio

By 2033, at least 50% of NP3's property value should be included in the company's green portfolio according to the guidelines of NP3's green framework. This corresponds to a growth of approximately 20% per year.

We see our sustainability work as an investment in the future. It strengthens our offerings, meets increasing demands from legislation and investors, and helps us build and manage attractive, safe, and resilient environments for future generations.

An important part of this work is our dual materiality analysis, where we map and prioritise the most important issues together with our stakeholders. Through this process, we gain valuble insights into their expectations and requirements. We have also integrated nine of the UN´s global goals into our sustainability work. By focusing on the most important issues, we can work purposefully to achieve our sustainability goals.

To clarify the path toward our goals and priorities, we have divided them into three main areas.

Responsible business

For NP3, sustainability and long-term return go hand in hand. The company has a responsibility towards its stakeholders to maintain continued strong economic growth, high business ethics, and compliance with laws and guidelines. By upholding good business practices, long-term financial results are enabled.

Responsibility for the future

NP3´s goal is to reduce environmental impact through lower emissions, efficient energy use, and more sustainable properties. The greatest environmental impact occurs through energy use and emissions, which we actively work on- both through our management and in collaboration with tenants. We have set long-term goals in these areas and continuously work with climate risks to future-proof a resilient property portfolio.

Health and well-being

Providing pleasant and safe workplaces for our employees, tenants and suppliers is essential for NP3. For us, it is just as important that no one is injured at work as it is to naturally promote diversity and equal rights for all people.

Sustainability reporting

Since 2020, NP3 has reported the company´s sustainability efforts in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards at level Core. From 2022 reporting is carried out in accordance with the GRI Universal Standards 2021. NP3 monitors the development in Swedish legislation, and we adjust our reporting accordingly, including decisions regarding voluntary reporting.

More information regarding the company´s overall sustainability work and GRI reporting can be found in the sustainability section of the company´s annual report.
